Air Pollution Monitoring and Forecasting System (PM2.5) for Vietnam

  • Technology

The PM2.5 dust pollution monitoring and forecasting system uses artificial intelligence models built on multi-source data, including meteorological data, land use data, satellite data, and multi-year station data.

  • System Functions:

    • Monitoring PM2.5 dust concentration (daily average) in near real-time.
    • Forecasting PM2.5 dust concentration (daily average) for the next 1-3 days.
    • Spatial resolution detailed down to each 1 km² area, allowing for monitoring and forecasting information at the district and province/city levels.
    • Supporting tools for display, detailed information viewing, analysis, statistics, and sharing of monitoring and forecasting data.

Air Pollution Data for Vietnam

  • Pollutants and Gases: PM2.5, NO2, SO2
  • Spatial Resolution: 1 km - 3 km
  • Temporal Resolution: 1 hour – 1 day

Some Use Cases of the Air Pollution Monitoring System and Data

  • Monitoring the current status and detecting sources of air pollution emissions in Vietnam, assessing the potential spread of air pollutants across regions and borders

  • Preparing reports related to air quality

  • Assessing the impact of air pollution on health, the environment, and the local economy
