Workshop on “Research and development of a precipitation estimation methodology using INtergrateD RAinfall measurements platform for agriculture (INDRA), a bilateral research project between Vietnam – Italy”

On January 17, 2025, the Workshop on “Research and Development of a Precipitation Estimation Methodology Using Integrated Rainfall Measurements Platform for Agriculture (INDRA), a Bilateral Research Project Between Vietnam – Italy” was held at Room 405, Building E3, University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UET). The purpose of the workshop was to summarize, share experiences, and transfer the research results and potential applications achieved by the project’s research team.

Participants

A total of 43 delegates attended the workshop, including experts, university lecturers, students, and researchers specializing in remote sensing and hydro-meteorology. Additionally, several representatives from government agencies in the field of meteorology, hydrology, and environmental monitoring also participated.

Workshop Highlights

The workshop began with an introduction to the INDRA project, its objectives, and a summary of the research findings by participating research groups. Throughout the event, eight research presentations were delivered, covering key topics such as:

  • Rainfall estimation and classification methods
  • Integration and calibration of rainfall products
  • Rainfall data systems for agricultural applications

Key Outcomes

The workshop provided a platform for research teams to present their findings, connect with individuals and organizations interested in remote sensing and hydro-meteorology, particularly in rainfall estimation. It served as an opportunity for researchers to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and explore future collaborations.

Furthermore, the event facilitated networking among researchers, lecturers, and students, encouraging academic exchange and promoting future research collaborations in the field.
