3rd International Conference on Intelligent System (ICIS-2024)
The 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Systems (ICIS-2024) was hosted by the University of Transport Technology in Hanoi, Vietnam, from October 24 to 25, 2024. The conference brought together scientists, professors, researchers, industry professionals, and students working in various fields of basic and engineering sciences. It provided an opportunity for authors and participants to report on the current state of their work, exchange ideas with other scholars, and learn about the latest advancements in information science, intelligent systems, technology, and applications.

Mr. Hoang Gia Anh Duc and the team presented a scientific paper at the conference titled “Calibration of Near Real-time Satellite Precipitation Products Using Deep Learning Techniques and Multi-Source Data.”

The research developed a combined deep learning model called DeepModel, which integrates U-Net and ResNet, to enhance the accuracy of near real-time satellite rainfall data. This improvement is crucial for water resource management, short-term weather forecasting, and disaster preparedness. The model utilized AWS data, ERA-5 atmospheric reanalysis data, and ASTER digital elevation model data to calibrate the IMERG-Early Run rainfall product for Vietnam.
The results of the paper opened up prospects for applying various deep learning techniques and additional supportive data, such as weather radar, microwave sensors, and numerical weather forecasts, to improve the accuracy of near real-time rainfall products.
